Established in 2020, NSAA Education Collective, Inc. is the culmination of more than a half century of organized efforts to build and promote educational, cultural, and artistic institutions in the Philadelphia area. Our name derives from "Nsaa", an Adinkra symbol from West African culture that represents "authenticity".

Our predecessors were responsible for not only Lotus Academy but also a broad variety of other initiatives such as adult history and cultural education classes, Afrocentric conferences, speaker series, African drumming classes and shows, jazz music concerts, art exhibits, fashion shows, health food stores, and restaurants.

NSAA Education Collective, Inc. is an IRS designated 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.

  • To expand and elevate Lotus Academy to the next level of excellence, and to maintain it as a truly authentic African centered independent school for our young students.
  • To establish the Ray Wright Music Academy as one of the premier youth music schools offering professional musical instrument instruction and music theory classes to its students.
  • To offer a variety of adult education classes (in-person and virtual) in African centered history and cultural studies, holistic health and diet, as well as a book club that will allow the NSAA community to explore and discuss pertinent readings to enhance our knowledge and nourish our efforts.

You may write me down in history with your bitter twisted lies; you may trod me in the very dirt, but still, like dust, I'll rise.
